Cooperation between Italy and India

Assomarmomacchine and the Indian Stone Technology Centre sign an agreement

At the recent CarraraMarmotec show a Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Assomarmomacchine, Italy’s premier association of makers and users of machinery and equipment to work natural stone, and the Stone Technology Centre, with headquarters in Jaipur, India, which promotes the Indian stone sector at home and abroad.

Cooperation between Italy and India on vertical initiatives of stone sector promotion, already existent informally, became official thanks to an agreement signed by Assomarmomacchine and the Stone Technology Centre. The Memorandum they signed guarantees cooperation in creating undertakings to help Indian stone in Italy and Italian stone in India, and sanctions a working relation that can and should lead to the joint endeavors that both parties hope for.
During the meeting between the Indian Centre director, K. Vikram, and Assomarmomacchine general manager, Raimondo Lovati, held at the recent CarraraMarmotec show, some ideas emerged to concretize the intents now formalized with the agreement.

One of the first objectives the parties aim to reach is organizing an event during the Stona 2008 tradeshow to be held in Bangalore. This event, which will probably be addressed to Indian architects, will demonstrate the latest techniques in using natural stone in architecture and will therefore bring together the building world and the stone industry, which through this seminar will be able to reach the Indian construction sector.

This is obviously only the start of cooperation between Italy and the Asian giant in regard to sector promotion, which from now on will also be guaranteed by this authoritative partnership between two premier organizations that play fundamental roles in techno-stone industry development in their own countries and internationally.
